Sudan Postcards
These postcards use the images of two Hogg; a container found in traditional Sudanese wedding ceremonies. These containers are used to store dates and powders that will be thrown on the bride and groom. The Arabic text says Hogg on the postcard with the two closed containers and JERtig on the other postcard. A JERtig is the fifth and final traditional Sudanese wedding ceremony.
I took photos of the containers and used Photoshop to clean up, retouch, and add the text. I added a drop shadow effect from the text casting onto the containers.
ICFS Calendar Brochure
Click the images above to view the brochure.
This is a brochure done for The International Center for Forensic Sciences. The requirements were to have a full year calendar with markings on days that ICFS holds courses. This is to be followed with more in depth descriptions of the courses.
The design is made in a way that the brochure opens up fully to preview the full year calendar on one side. The dates that the courses fall on are highlighted with a white circle. The other side contains short descriptions of the courses, with the course titles, photo, and date.
The CSI Effect Booklet

This is a booklet designed by my colleague and I  for an article written by Donald Shelton called ‘The CSI Effect’. We took photos that depict a crime scene and placed them in a frame to look like they were taken with an instant camera. We also included drawings that are related to crime scene investigation and created infographics with some. The font used is similar to that of ‘CSI’, the popular TV show.
Definitely Dubai

‘Definitely Dubai’ is the slogan of Dubai. When I think of Dubai I think of a place where everyone coexists. My design focuses on juxtaposition. The first design is to show the adjacency of traditional and western coffee. The second design shows the cultural clothing of Emirati men and women. The third design shows the desert representing the past and the future with the more modern skyscrapers.
They were done on Illustrator by tracing over halves of different pictures, adding color, and adding the text ‘Definitely Dubai’.
The same three designs were used to make the rest of the collection. For the GIFs, I changed parts of the illustrations on Illustrator and then moved them to Photoshop to create frame animations. The final piece of the collection is a three day travel itinerary created on InDesign.
A Balanced Diet is Chocolate in Both Hands
This is an infographic exhibiting my eating habits. I recorded everything I consumed for a week, where, and when. I concluded that I eat chocolate half of the time. Everything was illustrated on Illustrator excluding the five icons mentioned at the bottom of the infographic.
Reason and Passion Poem Poster
“Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul. If either your sails or your rudder be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas.”
‘Reason and Passion’ is a poem (translated from Arabic) by the Lebanese writer Gibran Khalil Gibran. He compares a person’s reason and passion to a ship at sea, either motionless or vigorously sailing.
The text on this A2 poster is composed in a way that represents a boat afloat on the sea waves., using the text from the poem. I placed and resized every letter of the poem on Illustrator.
